27/11/2024
The SheTrades Commonwealth+ Programme is organising a trade mission to Manchester in February 2025 featuring textiles, apparel and handicrafts from women-led businesses in developing countries.
The SheTrades programme is funded by the UK Government and implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC).
From 6-7 February, the Manchester Trade Mission Exhibition and B2B Event will showcase 50 women-led businesses from 10 countries, including 20 export-ready suppliers specialising in textiles, apparel, and handicrafts from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Mongolia.
The trade mission in Manchester aims to bolster efforts to promote UK imports by building market linkages with developing countries. SheTrades said the initiative will help UK importing companies to diversify suppliers, champion gender-inclusive supply chains and increase their competitiveness in the UK markets.
Key activities during the three-day mission include:
- Market-specific information sessions tailored to women-led businesses.
- Product showcases where participants will present their offerings to UK companies.
- Networking opportunities to connect with business stakeholders.
- Company visits to leading UK firms in textiles, apparel, and handicrafts.
The deadline for UK businesses to apply to take part is 15 December 2024.
