Any business that exports fashion and textile products to the United States must ensure their products comply with USimport regulations. For products regulated by the CPSC, such as clothing, childrenswear, sleepwear, rugs and certain home textiles, exporters/ importers are required to meet specific safety standards and submit electronic certificates of compliance through the new e-Filing system.
These requirements include flammability testing under 16 CFR Part 1610 for applicable apparel, and mandatory third party testing and certification for children's products. Businesses must ensure that regulated items are properly documented and that product and shipment information is electronically filed with US Customs and Border Protection at the time of entry.
