UKFT’s Canada Round Table
Now that the UK has left the European Union, UK exporters are looking to new markets and new strategies to sell their collections of fashion, accessories and textile products to important markets. The UK-Canada interim free trade agreement is already in force and it enables UK manufacturers and UK brands using EU inputs for their products to export to Canada on a free trade basis. For some companies, Canada is an important established market for many UK brands, one which can potentially be an important stepping stone into the US and the rest of the Americas. But it is a market most UK companies have not tended to prioritise – until now.
Please join UKFT at our first ever Canada Roundtable event on 7th July when we shall be hearing from the following distinguished guests:
- Mark Boloten, Fashion Net agency in Toronto who work with a large number of international brands in Canada and Canadian brands internationally www.fashionnet.org
- Jan Brabers, Fashion Net agency in Toronto www.fashionnet.org
- Marc Psarolis, Black Watch agency in Toronto, representing John Smedley, Sunspel, Loake and Wood Wood in Canada
- Mathieu St-Arnaud of MMode Québec www.mmode.ca/en/
- Bill Leach, Global Sales Director at John Smedley UK
The event will be chaired by UKFT’s Paul Alger, who will also give a brief overview of the UK-Canada interim free trade agreement and what UKFT hopes will be negotiated in future.
