British Textile Week 23
Where tradition meets innovation
For 2023, UKFT has brought together some of the latest updates in textile innovation from the UK, alongside new developments in apparel fabrics and textile design that will be exported all around the world.
This year’s British Textile Week highlights the textile skills and expertise found across the entire United Kingdom:
- From a project to introduce new uses and demand for Welsh wool
- Through to one third-generation weaver that is aiming to revive the full natural fibre manufacturing process in Northern Ireland
- In Scotland, one of the oldest mills is celebrating becoming B Corp certified
- While in England, Camira has first range of fabrics produced using advanced textile recycling capability
Innovation is also a particular focus this season:
- New industry-wide textile recycling infrastructure projects
- Future Fashion Factory Showcase 2023
- UK start-ups win Global Change Awards
UKFT co-ordinated the project, with the generous support of The Clothworkers’ Company.
