HRH The Princess Royal, President of UKFT, visited Kalopsia Collective on 17th January to open its new premises. Founded by Nina Falk and Adam Robertson in 2021, the Scotland-based manufacturer focuses on sustainable accessory and apparel production. The new 8000 square ft facility in Dunfermline will allow Kalopsia Collective to grow its manufacturing activity.
Originally based in Edinburgh, Kalopsia Collective operates as a social enterprise. It is committed to manufacturing its products both ethically and sustainably. Kalopsia Collective supports local employment, the circular economy and reducing textile waste.
Her Royal Highness was accompanied by UKFT CEO Adam Mansell. The visit also coincided with the launch of Kalopsia Collective’s new ethical investment programme, offering new investment opportunities to support its work.
Adam Mansell said:
“This visit by UKFT’s active and supportive President, HRH The Princess Royal was an opportunity to celebrate the excellent work of a member in the area of ethical and sustainable production. HRH’s visit was a moment for us all to celebrate the many successes of the industry.”
Adam Robertson, co-founder of Kalopsia Collective said:
“We are delighted to start 2023 with both the launch of our Textile Production Bonds and a visit from Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal. We decided to use bonds to raise finance to grow Kalopsia Collective as the model is well suited to enterprises like ours with social and ethical aims. Whilst growing the UK’s textile manufacturing infrastructure, we are committed to reducing textile waste, creating sustainable local employment opportunities and ensuring that the circular economy is embedded in everything we do.”
