Scottish employers: access funding for a graduate internship for six months via GCAS

08/02/2022

Scottish employers can access funding to take on a recent graduate for a six-month internship via Graduate Career Advantage Scotland (GCAS). The programme funds internships and provides careers support to bridge the gap between recent graduates and employers in Scotland.

The GCAS scheme works with universities and community partners to bridge the gap between industry and graduates; helping to ease their transition into valuable work experience while employers can benefit from their skills, new ideas, and insight.

Graduates in the GCAS Talent Pool are based in Scotland, aged 29 and under, and are currently unemployed or feel that they are not on the career track they’d prefer, so are available to start work almost immediately.

Funding is available for up to 35 hours per week for approximately six months at National Living Wage (£9.50 per hour), for candidates starting up to the 31st July.

Funding is allocated to employers offering a high-quality internship in Scotland:

  • With clearly defined, tangible outcomes which is a developmental opportunity for the graduate and with a clear benefit to your organisation
  • That are open to flexible working patterns, with a minimum of 16 hours per week
  • In any sector
  • Of any size
