British Textile Week 21: Hot off the loom

British mills reveal some of the highlights from their new Autumn/Winter 22/23 collections.
Marton Mills : 100% Wool Tweed range ‘Derwent’ utilising flecks of bright colours and large scale repeats
William Halstead : Wool/Mohair Denim – a new addition to the range of William Halstead modern classics for AW22/23, in response to the contemporary spirit of smart causal
Stephen Walters : Semi solid jacquard colour blankets. Left: 70% Cotton, 30% Silk. Middle: 100% Silk. Right: 73% Wool, 27% Silk
Laurent Garigue : a pastel mohair check. Composition: 78% Mohair, 16% Wool, 6% Nylon
John Foster : Using the beauty of woollen yarn and a double mill finish, John Foster have created an extension to their Oxbridge Flannel family in relaxed modern jacketing and suiting fabrics. Contemporary windowpanes, traditional gun club and shepherd check designs interspersed with semi-plains in complementary and classic tones.
Samuel Tweed : Classic windowpane on semi sheer white ground. 64% Mohair 31% Wool 5% Nylon
Taylor and Lodge : ‘2080’ 100% wool worsted flannel (420gms) from the Arthur Harrison brand at Taylor & Lodge. The image shows their new stock supported plains.
Maison Henry Bertrand : Oceanic The latest HENRY BERTRAND AW22-23 collection. The selection uses various yarns and compositions of mainly natural fibres to achieve varied effects.
William Halstead : Developed from their classic British twill suit fabric construction with the introduction of mohair into the weft across a 2-ply worsted warp, this cloth highlights the signature fibre of William Halstead in a resilient fabric. The unique aspect of the clean surface appearance is created when every metre of fabric is passed through a flame to remove unnecessary surface fibre.
Stephen Walters : Blurred Floral design, part of Stephen Walters’ ‘Revival’ range. 37% Viscose, 28% Wool, 23% Polyester, 12% Silk
Laurent Garigue : Mohair over-checked tweed. Composition: 85% Wool 12% Mohair 3% Nylon

John Foster : Graphic elegance and timeless designs. Oxford Flannel 100% Super 120’s Wool 360/380 gms. Fresh and modern colour inspiration introducing a collection of jacketing fabrics in capsule colour presentations.
David Walters : Bird design : Jacquard fabric highlighting an illustrative drawing stye (36% Viscose / 32% Cotton / 20% Polyester / 12% Flax) for use as upholstery.
MYB Textiles : Pineapple design : MYB Textiles have started getting ready for exhibiting at Proposte 2022 in April with this tropical pineapple design just off the loom.
Humphries Weaving : An 18th Century “Abberton Damask” in the customer’s chosen silk & linen shades in response to their brief. The fabric is suitable for upholstery, curtains and drapes, with the design one of thousands available from their textile archive.
David Walters : Geo design : Perspective Geo in a wool blend (43% Wool 40% Cotton 17% Viscose), is currently weaving for showroom lengths and will be launched in October.
