It is important to distinguish between the EU's framework for DPPs under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and the product specific requirements that will make a DPP mandatory for products.
The detailed requirements will be established through product specific legislation. Businesses should therefore check which requirements currently apply to their products before assuming that a DPP is already mandatory.
The regulatory framework is in development, and not all of the detailed requirements have yet been established.
