One of the world’s leading textile sourcing exhibitions, Intertextile Shanghai regularly attracts more than 100,000 visitors and thousands of exhibitors from around the world, providing UKFT with an important platform to showcase British textile capabilities to an international audience.
UKFT’s stand showcased a selection of high-quality British textile samples, providing visitors with a tangible demonstration of the breadth, quality and specialist expertise of the UK industry. The stand received very positive and complimentary feedback throughout the three-day event.
UKFT distributed copies of the Discover British Textiles booklet during the show. The publication, which provides an overview of the UK textile industry and its capabilities, was translated into Chinese to make the information more accessible to visitors from the Chinese market.
The UKFT stand also featured the film It’s What We’re Made Of, highlighting the heritage, expertise and capabilities of the British textile industry. The film attracted considerable interest from visitors and received very positive feedback.
Several UK textile companies were represented at the show through their Chinese agents, providing an opportunity to connect with existing UK industry activity in the market. There was also significant interest in British fabrics, with visitors keen to learn more about the products and capabilities available from UK mills and manufacturers.
The event provided UKFT with an opportunity to engage with a broad range of Chinese and international buyers, agents and industry stakeholders, while gaining further insight into sourcing trends and opportunities within the Chinese market.
UKFT’s continued presence at Intertextile Shanghai reflects the importance of China as a market for British textiles and supports the long-term development of relationships between UK manufacturers and international buyers.
