Following UKFT’s successful first dedicated presence at Techtextil Frankfurt earlier this year, the Shanghai event provided an opportunity to showcase the strength and diversity of the UK’s technical textile industry to the Chinese market.
UKFT distributed copies of the Discover British Technical Textiles booklet during the event. For Cinte Techtextil, the publication was translated into Chinese and featured GREAT branding, helping to introduce international visitors to the breadth of UK expertise across technical textiles and advanced materials.
Although the show was predominantly focused on the Chinese market, UKFT made a number of valuable new contacts across a range of technical textile sectors. There was strong interest in the UKFT presence, with several companies keen to learn more about the UK industry and explore opportunities to work more closely with British businesses.
UKFT also welcomed Rebecca Li from the British Consulate-General Shanghai, providing an opportunity to discuss the development of UK-China engagement in technical textiles.
Cinte Techtextil provided valuable insight into the Chinese technical textile market and further cemented UKFT’s growing role in promoting the UK’s technical textile capabilities internationally. UKFT will continue to develop the relationships established at the event and explore opportunities for greater collaboration between UK and international businesses.
