UKFT is delighted to accompany 27 UK companies showing their latest collections at Milano Unica from 8-10 July. The UK delegation at this year’s Milano Unica brings together a wide range of heritage yet forward-looking mills and manufacturers, merchants and suppliers, offering global buyers an impressive showcase of textile innovation, sustainable practices and world-renowned craftsmanship.
Luxury and tailoring cloths
Exhibitors such as Alfred Brown, Bower Roebuck, Joseph H Clissold, John Foster, Marling & Evans, Kynoch of Scotland, Savile Clifford and William Halstead represent some of the finest in British worsted and woollen cloths. With deep roots in Yorkshire and Scotland, these businesses supply stock-supported and seasonal collections of Merino, mohair and blended tailoring fabrics to luxury brands and tailors worldwide. Their collective expertise reflects generations of skill in producing cloths for suiting, coats and fine tailoring, with an emphasis on quality, detail and heritage.
Innovators in sustainable textiles
Manufacturers including Halley Stevenson and British Millerain are at the forefront of sustainable fabric innovation, offering solutions such as organic cotton, PFC-free finishes, vegetable waxes. These firms are responding to growing global demand for ethical and responsible textiles, without compromising on style or performance.
Heritage collections with a modern perspective
The delegation includes mills with centuries-old legacies that continue to innovate. Joshua Ellis, established in 1767, is known for cashmere and woollen cloths, while Mallaliues, Moon, and Marton Mills offer vertical manufacturing capabilities from spinning to finishing, ensuring quality control and design flexibility. Harris Tweed Hebrides, handwoven in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides, presents iconic Harris Tweed – protected by law and instantly recognisable for its authenticity and provenance.
Specialist and fashion fabrics
Brands such as Fernmoor, Linton Tweeds, Laurent Garigue and Stephen Walters bring fashion-forward design to the fore, offering womenswear fabrics, jacquards, florals, tweeds and textured plains. Liberty Fabric leads in digitally printed fabrics for fashion and interiors, combining British design with Italian manufacturing. Pongees provides luxury silks with fast delivery and low minimums, appealing to designers of eveningwear, bridal and lingerie. Brisbane Moss continues a legacy since 1858 with Europe’s largest stock-supported collection of cottons, moleskins and corduroys.
Textiles with a distinctive regional identity
Alongside many of the Yorkshire mills outlined above, Lochcarron Of Scotland, the world leader in Scottish tartans, and Magee, the fifth-generation Irish maker of Donegal tweeds and lifestyle collections, bring regional authenticity to international buyers, promoting natural fibres, local craftsmanship and slow fashion. Ulster Weavers /Spence Bryson, based in Northern Ireland, offers a wide range of home textiles and coordinated lifestyle products, drawing on over a century of expertise.

Alfred Brown, founded in 1915, are a family-owned business weaving fine worsted cloth from their mill based in Leeds. Known for British style and an eye for detail, their Merino wool and blended cloth is suitable for tailoring, jackets and coats. Alfred Brown also offers seasonal and stock-supported collections.

Based in New Mill, Huddersfield since 1899, Bower Roebuck is a leading textile manufacturer renowned for producing some of the most luxury English fabrics and designs. Supplying wool, natural blends and sustainable tailoring fabric to luxury customers and brands globally. The creative design team offer a service to customers who wish to develop their own thoughts into exclusive designs and fabrics. On-site sampling facilities allow Bower Roebuck to quickly produce woven loom trials and samples to meet tight deadlines.

For over 150 years Brisbane Moss have been at the forefront of the manufacture of Corduroy, Moleskin and Fustian fabrics. To meet an ever changing demand they offer Europe’s largest stock supported range of Corduroy, Moleskin and Cotton fabrics. British Millerain

British Millerain is a Lancashire-based manufacturer of waxed cotton, fashion coatings, cotton laminates and dry finish textiles and a world leader in the manufacture of specialist textiles for Outerwear. The company has strong sustainable credentials – including organic cotton, BCI, PFC finishing, sustainable vegetable wax innovation.

Liberty Fabrics has been at the cutting-edge of design and decorative arts since 1875 and now forms an international wholesale business, working with retailers, brands and designers across womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and homewares. Designed by an in-house team in the heart of London, printing takes place at its mill in northern Italy, which uses both innovative digital technology and age-old techniques.

Harris Tweed Hebrides

The Fabric of Fashion. Harris Tweed, handwoven in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland from pure virgin wool, is the fabric of choice wherever quality and provenance are valued. For more than 100 years, the skills used to create Harris Tweed have been passed down through the generations. Today, it is at the cutting edge of fashion and design – unique, flawless and beautiful. Governed by the 1993 Harris Tweed Act of Parliament, which safeguards the fabric, recognised by the distinctive Orb stamp, the artisan manufacturing process is protected and cannot be undertaken anywhere beyond the Outer Hebrides.

Established in 1819, today the business continues to weave iconic British cloths in its Yorkshire mill with time-honoured skills passed down generations. Fabrics feature more than 200 years of history, heritage and tradition, in stock-supported bunches and seasonal collections.
John Foster’s AW26 collection is a study in quiet confidence – luxurious, tactile wool fabrics designed for a world that values individuality, longevity and style with substance. This season isn’t about chasing trends; it’s about refining what lasts. Rich textures and thoughtful weaves highlight the natural beauty of wool, offering comfort and elegance in equal measure.
The colour palette echoes this restrained sophistication. Classic greys and navies are softened and warmed with earthy tones and versatile neutrals – designed to move effortlessly between menswear and womenswear.

Established in 1767, Joshua Ellis celebrates a distinguished heritage of British manufacturing with a steadfast reputation for luxury and quality. Renowned the world over for producing the finest handcrafted cashmere and woollen cloth and scarves, Joshua Ellis products are highly sought after by luxury fashion houses and exported from the company’s Yorkshire mill to over 23 countries.
For AW26, the Joshua Ellis collection draws on the richness of British textile tradition, reimagined through a refined, contemporary lens. At its core is a celebration of checks – gun clubs, Glen checks and plaids – anchored in a considered palette of Loden greens, camel, navy and melange greys. These patterns come to life in a luxurious selection of brushed jacketings and coatings, offering warmth, depth and understated elegance.
Modern herringbones weave through the range with a fresh perspective: ombré tones, twist colour effects and double-face checks sit alongside classic favourites from the stock-supported line. Two new felted coatings, crafted in wool and wool/cashmere blends, introduce melange bi- and tri-colour options, adding texture and complexity without overt pattern.
Balancing the collection’s earthy foundation, brighter moments appear in large-scale tartans and soft pops of colour, from coral and mint to pink, red and soft blue, delivering a quiet joy and character that elevates every piece.

The family owned company is delighted to see its cloth being enjoyed from international catwalks, to Sunday afternoon strolls. Kynoch is proud to bring together the heart and soul of textiles in the British Isles, from Scotland to Yorkshire.
Kynoch of Scotland’s AW26 collection is a celebration of texture, heritage, and quiet distinction – designed for those who appreciate cloth with character and purpose. Spanning weights from 300gsm to 700gsm, the collection brings together refined coatings, playful tweeds, and classic twist suitings, each grounded in the mill’s time-honoured craftsmanship.
Splitable double cloths return in bold Glen checks and rich plains, offering warmth and structure in earthy, tonal shades. New Shetland tweeds introduce pops of colour and micro-patterns with a distinctly rural feel – balancing tradition with charm. The twist qualities, including fresh additions, offering subtle texture and depth to classic checks and suitings, reinforcing the enduring appeal of the Heritage Twist range.

Supplying Haute Couture houses and leading designers worldwide, the Garigue name has been synonymous with high fashion fabrics since 1947. Laurent Garigue is extremely proud of its British heritage and most of the firm’s cloth is woven, dyed and finished in Yorkshire and Scotland. Laurent Garigue’s new AW26 collection includes wool tweeds, fluffy mohairs, wool crepes and jerseys, luxurious silks both solid and printed, and evening-wear fancy cloths, all offered in wide colour ranges.

Just as a gardener cultivates their garden in preparation for the seasons ahead, Design Nature Art by Liberty Fabrics honours the quiet transformations that unfold with time. There are three distinct chapters: Story Garden, Gallery Garden and Painted Garden, which celebrate the connection between creativity and the cultivated world where history, imagination and artistic expression bloom in unison.

Magee

Magee 1866 is a fifth-generation Irish family business with over 150 years’ experience in designing, weaving and tailoring luxurious fabrics and clothing in Donegal. Natural fibres like wool, cashmere, flax and alpaca are central to their collections. These natural fibres are renewable and biodegradable, coming from all-natural sources for a rich, soft feeling that can’t be imitated. Their design philosophy has always promoted the concept of ‘slow fashion’ through timeless collections, producing seasonal men and women’s lifestyle collections.
The AW26 collection includes a diverse range of woollens enhanced with cashmere, alpaca and mohair blends. Exhibiting the nuanced textures and distinctive character associated with natural fibres, the collection incorporates a diverse range of bespoke colourations including a selection of plaid and check layouts, interesting plains and herringbones, as well as twill-based designs in a variety of scales. Magee uses clever weave and structural effects to create a distinctive blend of colour, pattern and texture for the new season. Further emphasis is also put on Magee’s authentic Donegal story and the continued importance of linen and silk blends with all year transitional possibilities.

Based in Delph, a charming village on the border of Yorkshire and Lancashire, Mallalieus draws on the centuries-old tradition of British textile manufacturing. Independent, family-owned and fully vertical, the mill specialises in working closely with clients to develop superb woollen cloths for apparel and interiors, plus fine woollen accessories such as scarves and throws.

Pongees

Pongees is a leading supplier of high quality silks and has been working with the very best fashion, bridalwear, lingerie and interiors designers, as well as costumiers and tailors, across the world for more than 90 years. Pongees offers an extensive range of colours in each of its collections, which are all stock supported. As such the minimum order is just 1metre and delivery is fast. Fabrics include marocain, taffeta, georgette, sand washed spun silk and stretch satin. These include pastels and deeper tones and some of the collections now include more than 100 shades.

William Halstead is an innovator in cloth, continuing a unique legacy as an approachable collaborator within the supply chain. Taking provenance and craftsmanship with the latest manufacturing innovation to create brave and bold patterns in a time-honoured way.
For AW26, William Halstead presents a refined interpretation of classic British suiting, reimagined through a lens of depth, detail and structure. At the heart of the collection lies a focus on pattern and surface interest, with timeless weaves explored in new and elevated ways.
Herringbones, with their signature broken twill, lend rich texture and tailored sophistication across a range of seasonal weights – from robust coatings to mohair blends. Alongside these, subtle complexity is introduced through micro jacquard and dobby constructions: basket weaves, miniature checks and two-tone squares offer a nuanced, contemporary aesthetic.
Stripes remain a foundation of the collection, updated with a sense of variety – pinstripes, tramlines and softened chalks in modern palettes. Checks, in turn, play with scale and tone, from shadowed tartans to classic Prince of Wales designs, offering a balance of boldness and tradition.
