12/12/2025
In November 2025, UKFT joined a sourcing trip to Maroc in Mode (MiM) in Casablanca, hosted by AMITH (Association Marocaine des Industries du Textile et de l’Habillement). The visit offered UK fashion and textile businesses an on the ground view of Morocco’s evolving manufacturing landscape and provided an opportunity to engage with international trade associations and local industry leaders.

About MiM
The show featured presentations, panel discussions and multilateral meetings, bringing together a diverse mix of exhibitors and industry stakeholders. MiM has grown significantly over the past year, now clearly divided into two sections:
- Fabrics: Predominantly international exhibitors, including Turkey, China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Tunisia, and Uzbekistan.
- Garment Manufacturing: Focused on Moroccan CMT providers, reflecting Morocco’s strategic ambition to strengthen its position as a Mediterranean CMT hub.
Key Insights
- Morocco is increasingly attracting international investment and partnerships, with Turkish fabric producers collaborating with Moroccan manufacturers and EURATEX actively engaged in supporting regional integration under the Pan Euro Med (PEM) framework.
- Political and industry leaders highlighted the need to “add value” to the sector, with a focus on moving beyond low value production through technical upgrading, vertical integration, and sustainability initiatives.
- Moroccan manufacturers are making notable investments in renewable energy and efficiency, reinforcing Morocco’s competitive position as a green manufacturing hub.
International engagements
MiM attracted a broad spectrum of global representatives, including EURATEX, ITMF, IAF, ATP, and NCTO, who participated in discussions on trade facilitation, duty-free arrangements, and regional sourcing collaborations. These engagements highlighted Morocco’s role as a strategic sourcing partner, particularly for garments destined for European and US markets.
Highlights from the UK delegation
UK brands praised Moroccan manufacturers for their agility, diverse production capabilities, and responsiveness to sustainability requirements. The visit reinforced Morocco’s potential as a reliable, medium-to-high-value sourcing destination for European brands.
