The European Commission is seeking feedback on its initiative to simplify administrative burdens in EU environmental legislation, as part of the Environmental Omnibus package.

The proposals, published in December 2025, aim to reduce duplication, streamline reporting, and improve regulatory clarity, particularly across circular economy and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks.

The Commission’s Have Your Say portal is open for feedback until 7 May 2026, with a focus on gathering practical examples from businesses where requirements may be disproportionate or overlapping.

UKFT will contribute via EURATEX, which is co-ordinating an industry response at EU level. UKFT Members wishing to provide input can send comments or examples to compliance@ukft.org
