Together, they ensure our organisation supports members, drives innovation and champions the UK fashion and textile sector.

Stewart McGuffie
Chairman
Becoming Chairman of UKFT in January 2025 with over 50 years of industry experience. Currently Group Chief Executive of Allied Textiles Ltd since 2007.
Ian Maclean MBE
Treasurer
Growing up in the John Smedley brand (8th generation), joining as Non-Executive Director in 2000, becoming Chairman in 2008, Managing Director in 2010, and Executive Chairman in 2025. In 2013, the brand received a Royal Warrant from HM The Queen, followed by a royal visit in 2014.
Caroline Attwood
Board Member
Managing Director at Margaret Howell with 30+ years' experience in design and retail. She has held senior roles at Mulberry, Anya Hindmarch and Ally Capellino, alongside international experience in the US, Australia and Italy.
Mitch Hughes
Board Member
Director of M&S Man with nearly 30 years' UK fashion retail experience. He rejoined M&S in 2023 after starting there on the Graduate Programme in 1997. Previous roles include MD at Boohoo Group (Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Wallis), MD of Topman/Topshop at Arcadia, and Trading Director at Matalan.
Professor Parikshit Goswami
Director of Technical Textiles Research Centre
Director of Research at the University of Huddersfield, specialising in flexible materials, textile functionalisation and chemistry. His research portfolio spans fibre/polymer science, nonwovens, medical textiles, sustainable materials, nano fibres and plasma treatments.
Alan Williams
Board Member
CEO of Camira Group, a global textile design and manufacturing company producing fabric for transport and commercial interiors. He has led several acquisitions to extend vertical manufacturing, develop new technologies and enter new markets.
Simon Carter
Board Member
Having run his eponymous menswear brand since the mid-1980s, growing from cufflinks and watches into a full menswear collection now stocked in exclusive department stores and independents across 35 countries.
Adam Mansell
CEO & Company Secretary
CEO of UKFT with 30 years' industry experience across the full fashion and textile supply chain. He sits on multiple national and international boards, chairs skills charity CAPITB, serves on the UK Textile Pact and Institute of Positive Fashion advisory boards, and is President of GINETEX. He regularly comments in trade and national press.
