Minnessak: A sustainable collaboration with Alpha Industries

Pioneering slow fashion brand Minnessak has announced an exciting global partnership with Alpha Industries, a name synonymous with military-inspired apparel. This collaboration will see Alpha Industries’ iconic MA-1 flight jackets upcycled into a new collection of bags and accessories for AW25.

Crafted in Minnessak’s London atelier, the collection features vintage Japanese Obi silks, Halley Stevenson dry waxed cottons, and buttery soft Italian leathers. The commitment to sustainability is at the core of this venture, as co-founder Peter Keep explains:

“Minnessak was established on a commitment to upcycling and repurposing everything from fabrics to hardware, and the styles at the heart of the brand lean heavily into vintage military-grade nylons taken from USAF MA-1 jackets. So, it makes perfect sense that Minnessak’s first official partner is Alpha Industries, the brand most associated to the instantly recognisable MA-1 jacket”.”

Tricker’s: Bourton takes centre stage

In a departure from tradition, Tricker’s is showcasing only one style at Pitti Uomo this year: the Bourton, a heritage men’s country shoe. This heavy Derby shoe, with its unmistakable brogue detailing, accounts for 55% of the brand’s total sales and is considered a quintessential piece of Northampton shoemaking history.

By focusing exclusively on the Bourton in multiple colourways, Tricker’s aims to celebrate its legacy while reinforcing its relevance to modern footwear enthusiasts around the world.

Shore: A bold leap into footwear

Known for its innovative weaving techniques and luxurious furniture, Shore is venturing into uncharted territory with its first-ever footwear collection, debuted at Pitti Uomo. This marks a significant evolution for the brand, which started in 2015 with the cult-favourite Shore Rug, a product combining the health benefits of anti-fatigue mats with the craftsmanship of fine handwoven carpets.

Handmade in its London studio, the new footwear collection reflects the brand’s dedication to innovation and craftsmanship, offering a seamless extension of its singular approach to design. While this is its first step into footwear, the collection promises to embody the values that have made the brand a favourite among design enthusiasts.
