UKFT’s Q4 2024 report: What we’ve been doing on your behalf

We are delighted to share some updates from Q4 2024 that underline our work to build a stronger UK fashion and textile industry.UKFT Q4 2024 REPORTHighlights from Q4 2024 include:We're thrilled to welcome new members from all parts of the supply chain, including material innovators, fashion and textile manufacturers, testing houses, designer brands, educators and retailers.Not yet a member? Find out morehere.Since the new government was elected, we have worked closely with the government on key topics like industrial strategy, creative industries, curriculum and assessment, manufacturing and regulatory reform.We've provided tailored support on compliance, labelling sustainability, export strategies and market legislation.We launched resources covering everything fromEU IOSSand digital tools toexporting to Canadaandtrading with South Korea, and shared insights onEPR Packaging,Ecodesign for Sustainable Products,new employment rights,EU deforestation, thePlastic Packaging Taxand more.We've highlighted countless funding opportunities for UKFT members.On a global stage, we continue to support UK brands at major international trade shows and events through ourDiscover British Brands and Textilescampaigns.As part of our commitment to promote the wealth of careers, employers and training opportunities available in the UK, we continue to work with local industry, training providers, schools and recruitment organisations to deliver an annual series ofcareer events and job fairsacross the UK.We are delighted to oversee more than £225,000 annually inbursaries and training funds, helping new talent gain the skills our industry needs.We are actively involved in large-scale projects aimed at tackling some of the industry's biggest challenges. Projects includeCircular Fashion Innovation Network (CFIN)andACT UK.We launched new projects such as the Production Sewing Machinist Programme with HM Prison Service and a Shared Prosperity Fund initiative in Skelmersdale to attract fresh talent into our sector."
