This topic will be explored during the panel discussion ‘From Data to Action: Rethinking Circularity Before End-of-Life’ at UKFT’s Sustainability Conference 2026: Progress in Practice, taking place on Wednesday 23 September at Drapers Hall, London.
Bringing together perspectives spanning textiles, product data, resale intelligence, circular business models and policy, the session will explore how better information can support decisions throughout a product’s life and help create more effective circular systems.
Rethinking circularity
Circularity is often discussed in the context of recycling and end-of-life solutions. But many of the decisions that determine a product’s environmental impact, useful life and residual value are made much earlier.
From the information attached to a product and the way it is designed, to how it performs in resale markets and the incentives created through policy, data has the potential to help businesses understand products beyond the point of first sale.
The panel will consider how this information can be translated into practical action, and how brands, technology providers, policymakers and the wider industry can use it to inform product strategy, resale, reuse and future circular business models.
Meet the expert panel
The discussion will be moderated by Annabelle Georgina Hutter of Säntis Textiles AG, her family’s textile business, where she works across marketing, communications and the company’s recycling storytelling.
Alongside her work with Säntis Textiles, Annabelle is developing her own brand and design studio, bringing together her interests in materials, craft, design and how products connect with their audiences. Her experience combines the heritage and practical realities of the textile industry with a contemporary perspective on design and communication.
Joining Annabelle are experts working across product information, resale intelligence, circular business models and policy:
- Kevin Dixie, Co-Founder of Buyerdock, has more than 30 years’ experience spanning sales, brand development, investment and technology start-ups. Buyerdock is a digital platform used by more than 800 brands to display product information directly to consumers through over 100 million QR codes powered by GS1. The platform supports current EU requirements relating to Digital Product Passports and is developing technology to help businesses respond to evolving European recycling regulation.
- Woody Lello, CEO of TRUSS, leads a pricing intelligence platform for the secondhand market. TRUSS analyses cross-platform sold-price data to help resellers understand what products are worth, how value can be maximised and where inventory can be routed to sell more quickly. The same information can give brands greater visibility of how their products perform after the initial sale. TRUSS works with luxury brands and resale marketplaces and is backed by SFC Capital, Innovate UK and FIGR Ventures.
- Kristina Bull, Co-Founder of WEFT, works at the intersection of product data, policy and circular business models. WEFT brings together product information, policy insight, industry experience and practical modelling to support the development of Extended Producer Responsibility systems that are fair, transparent and effective. Before co-founding WEFT, Kristina was a partner at QSA Partners, where she worked with brands to implement circular business models.
Turning information into action
Together, the panel will explore what becomes possible when businesses can better understand a product throughout its lifecycle, rather than focusing solely on what happens when it reaches end-of-life.
The discussion will consider how Digital Product Passports and other product-level data can support circularity, alongside the insight that resale markets can provide into durability, demand and residual value.
It will also examine the role of Extended Producer Responsibility and how data could help shape systems that create meaningful incentives for businesses to design and manage products differently.
Central to the conversation will be a practical question: how can the industry turn increasing volumes of product and market data into decisions that keep products and materials in use for longer?
UKFT’s Sustainability Conference 2026
UKFT’s Sustainability Conference 2026: Progress in Practice will explore how innovation is driving measurable change across the UK fashion and textile supply chain.
Taking place on Wednesday 23 September, from 9am to 6pm at Drapers’ Hall, London, the conference will showcase developments across bio-based materials, low-impact dyes and finishes, textile reuse and recycling, data-driven circularity, and traceability and transparency.
For businesses navigating Digital Product Passports, Extended Producer Responsibility, resale and evolving circular business models, this session will offer insight into how data can move beyond compliance and become a practical tool for decision-making.
