MOON, one of Europe’s leading vertical woollen mills based in Yorkshire has been recognised for its approach to progressive and people focused HR initiatives winning the coveted accolade of Team of the Year at the Yorkshire Excellence in HR Awards.
The Awards Ceremony took place on 1 October at The Royal Armouries in Leeds. In attendance was Claire Burns, the People Director accompanied by Sam Field, the HR Advisor and Mick Dixon, Head of Yarn Production. Carl Platts, Cloth Production Manager and Rob McAllister, Yarn Shift Manager were also in attendance, as contributions were celebrated across all managerial levels of the business.
The judging process included two stages. First MOON supplied a written submission outlining its HR initiatives and impact. The HR team then attended a judging day at the Clarion Offices in Leeds, where they were interviewed by the judging panel and invited to expand on their nomination, covering areas such as the positive impact on the organisation, developing future capabilities and employee engagement.
The award follows MOON’s recent success as Apprenticeship Provider of the Year, awarded by the Textile Centre of Excellence earlier this year, as the company continues to develop its people and create opportunities for employees at every stage of their careers.
