Funding opportunity: NEB Academy | Fashion Shift for collaborative fashion projects

Applications are now open for the NEB Academy | Fashion Shift call, an initiative designed to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable, circular and resilient European fashion sector. There are five projects available and up to £500,000 per project. The focus is on existing businesses, pilots, initiatives or proven concepts that are ready for development.

The opportunity is open to eligible organisations across Horizon Europe countries, including UK-based entities, making it relevant for fashion businesses, education providers and innovation organisations in the UK.

Who can apply?

The call is aimed at collaborative consortia rather than individual organisations. Eligible applicants include education and training providers, research organisations, industry bodies, innovation organisations, SMEs and other partners capable of developing and delivering skills and training initiatives for the fashion sector. UK organisations can participate where they meet the eligibility requirements for Horizon Europe-associated countries.

What is being funded?

The programme will support projects that develop and scale training, upskilling and reskilling activities to help transform the fashion industry. Successful projects are expected to create practical learning opportunities that encourage circular business models, sustainable production methods and innovation across the sector.

Where will projects take place?

Projects are expected to have a European dimension and bring together partners from eligible countries to develop solutions with cross-border impact. Activities can be delivered through collaborative networks, educational programmes and industry partnerships across Europe.

When is the deadline?

The call opened on 9 June 2026 and applications must be submitted by 31 August 2026. Successful projects will be selected following the evaluation process outlined in the call documentation.

Why does it matter?

The fashion industry is under increasing pressure to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency and build the skills needed for a circular economy. The NEB Academy | Fashion Shift initiative aims to equip organisations and professionals with the knowledge and partnerships required to support this transition while aligning with the values of the New European Bauhaus, including sustainability, inclusion and high-quality design.

Organisations considering an application should review the full eligibility criteria, consortium requirements and funding details before preparing their proposal.
