UKFT associate partner Greenway Logistics offers EU GPSR solution
21/07/2025
UKFT associate partner Greenway Logistics has introduced a new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) solution for UK fashion and textile businesses, including access to an EU-based Authorized Representative (EUAR).
The new EU GPSR came into effect on 13 December 2024. This regulation marks a significant change in consumer product safety laws across the EU and will have a direct impact on all brands, retailers, importers and distributors placing or making goods available on the EU market, including all product placed on the market on or after 13 December 2024.
GPSR Compliance
With the regulation now in force, UKFT members are actively seeking reliable, cost-effective solutions and support to meet GPSR requirements. While numerous service providers claim to offer GPSR support, navigating the complexity of the regulation requires a trusted, strategic, and long- term approach.
As an established UKFT partner, Greenway Logistics offers UKFT members a comprehensive and future-ready solution for GPSR compliance. This service includes access to an EU-based Authorized Representative (EUAR) and forms part of a broader compliance strategy tailored specifically for the fashion and textile industry.
Technical files
UKFT has developed a guide to support its members in preparing technical files and risk assessments, specifically tailored to the fashion and textile sector. Building on this, Greenway’s EUAR partner will provide step-by-step guidance to help you finalise and organise your technical files correctly, ensuring everything is in place for full regulatory compliance.
EU-based Authorized Representative (EUAR)
The GPSR replaces the previous General Product Safety Directive and introduces new obligations to improve product safety and oversight. One of the most critical changes is the requirement for a Responsible Person (Authorized Representative) within the EU. Non-EU based businesses placing product on the EU consumer market must now appoint a designated representative who ensures the product complies with EU safety rules. This ‘Responsible Person’ acts as the main contact point for authorities and consumers, maintains technical documentation and coordinates product recalls when necessary.
