UKFT Rise hosted an exclusive webinar for subscribers with Jan Miller to discuss what early-stage UK fashion brands and designers should be thinking about to survive and thrive in a post Covid-19 world.
Covid-19 has accelerated a variety of structural shifts in the global fashion industry, while businesses are transforming to meet new challenges.
Jan Miller is part-time Finance Director at London Fashion Week brand Marques Almeida, and over the past 15 years has proven her business mentoring passion to over 100+ emerging designers across womenswear, menswear, accessories and ecommerce, notably: Christopher Raeburn, Craig Green, Erdem, Feng Chen Wang, Jonathon Anderson, Mary Katrantzou, Molly Goddard, Peter Pilotto, Richard Malone, Simone Rocha, and Wales Bonner. Her understanding of early-stage fashion businesses will be invaluable to UKFT Rise members.
Jan is also an Entrepreneur In Residence at the InnovationRCA incubator, as well as a regular contributor to British Council overseas development work. She has a wealth of creative and cultural industries business experience. With a foot-hold firmly in fashion and more than 30 years of experience in management roles, Jan now also regularly ventures into strategic business development and finance advice for interiors, product design, artists, and cultural & tourism businesses, organisations, sole traders and charities.
During the webinar, Jan talked through some of the issues brands and designers are facing at the moment, and ways to adapt to the new normal.
