British Collections at Pitti Uomo: A showcase of UK textiles and craftsmanship

Prestigious menswear buyers at Pitti Uomo in Florence this January will witness a celebration of British manufacturing and craftsmanship as renowned UK brands showcase their collections featuring a stunning array of UK textiles or materials. These brands, each with a unique narrative, embody the essence of British design excellence.
Highlights include:
W.Rubens: An emerging London brand focusing on luxury T-shirts made from BCI Cotton and handcrafted in a London factory, reviving the ‘Made in England’ marque.
John Smedley: Proudly championing Britishness with a range of British wool garments and accessories. From fleece to finished yarn, all within 50 miles, including the highest quality Bluefaced Leicester and Masham sheep fleeces. All products are knitted in Smedley’s own mill that is 240 years old in 2024.
Christy’s Hats: Caps crafted from Lovat Mill Teviot and herringbone tweed, Johnstons of Elgin cashmere and Harris Tweed, showcasing the rich tapestry of British textiles.
Herons Ghyll: Embracing local sourcing this season featuring vibrant meltons from Hainsworth, luxurious lambswool from Dugdale and exquisite cashmere from Joshua Ellis.
Cheaney: Unveiling a new range featuring waxy commander leather sourced from the esteemed British tannery CF Steads.
Charles Tyrwhitt: Leather accessories crafted from Barkers and Arnold Wills, demonstrating the best of British craftsmanship.
Tricker’s: Utilising suedes and leathers from Leeds-based CF Stead and soles from Harboro Rubber company in Leicestershire.
Only The Blind: The latest collection features limited edition pieces, including flannel shirts and a shearling jacket proudly made in the UK.
Tateossian: Bracelets are all strung in the brand’s workshops in Imperial Wharf in London, reflecting a commitment to British craftsmanship.
Channel Jumper: The latest collection features 100% British wool, sourced from the fells and downs of the British countryside.
As these brands come together at Pitti Uomo this January, they celebrate the rich history of textiles and craftsmanship that the UK is known for.
UKFT is accompanying a group of 56 British brands in January 2024 at Pitti Uomo, with the support of the Department for Business and Trade (DBT). British heritage and craftsmanship will be a major focus this season amongst the British exhibitors.
