Techtextil Frankfurt, held from 21–24 April 2026, is one of the world’s key trade fairs for technical textiles and nonwovens. Taking place every two years, the exhibition brings together a broad international audience working across sectors such as aerospace, defence, healthcare, construction, filtration, automotive and advanced composites.

This year marked UKFT’s first time exhibiting with a dedicated stand at the show, reflecting a growing engagement with the technical textiles sector.

UKFT’s stand served as a central point to showcase the range of UK technical textile capabilities. Visitors were able to access company listings and copies of the Discover British Technical Textiles booklet, designed to provide an overview of UK expertise and help direct interest towards British exhibitors across the exhibition halls.

More than 45 UK companies took part in Techtextil and the co-located Texprocess exhibition, representing a diverse mix of specialist products and end-use applications.

Across the four days, exhibitors reported good levels of engagement, with a consistent flow of visitors from a range of international markets including Europe, North America and Asia. For many companies, the event provided an opportunity to reconnect with existing contacts as well as to initiate new conversations.

Representatives from the Department for Business and Trade also attended, meeting with UK exhibitors and gaining insight into current areas of innovation and market challenges across the sector.

The exhibition reinforced the global demand for advanced, performance-driven textile solutions across multiple end-use sectors. Innovation, technical compliance, and application-specific functionality continue to be primary drivers of procurement decisions. There is increasing emphasis on cross-sector collaboration and the integration of textiles into complex, high-specification systems. The international profile of the show underlined the global nature of the market and the potential for UK companies to explore opportunities in a range of sectors and regions.
