Since September 2022, UKFT has led on the review of two Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) at SCQF Level 7 as tasked by Skills Development Scotland (SDS). The qualifications under review are:

• SVQ in Manufacturing Textile Products at SCQF 7 (GK7T 23)
• SVQ in Leather Manufacture at SCQF 7 (GJ7J 23)

The qualifications are being updated to the new National Occupational Standards approved in 2020. It has also been requested by SDS to merge the two SVQs into one with specialist pathways.

The UKFT Scottish Steering Group* has been reviewing the title, structure and unit coverage to create the new SVQ.

We would like to share our final draft with the wider industry in Scotland for further comments and approval before UKFT submits the final SVQ for approval.
