Moon is a British maker of luxury fabrics for fashion, interiors, and accessories. Based in Yorkshire and the Humber, they are one of the last remaining vertical woollen mills in Great Britain, with a reputation for consistent quality and innovative design.
Abraham Moon has officially been accredited as a Living Wage Employer. Their Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at Moon receive the real living wage, which is significantly higher than the government minimum for over 23s, which currently stands at £10.42 per hour.
Moon is based in Yorkshire and the Humber, the UK regions with the highest proportion of non-Living Wage jobs in the country (15.8%). With over 368,000 jobs paying less than the real Living Wage in the area, Moon is taking a counter-step. The company has firmly committed to pay the real Living Wage and deliver a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.
Claire Burn, Director of People at Abraham Moon, explained:
“As the costs of basic necessities such as food and energy still at a high, we are committed to ensuring that our employees are fairly compensated for their time and efforts with a wage that is based in line with the true cost of household goods and services.

Our adoption of the real living wage is an example of our continuing commitment to investment in our people for the future.”
