Apprenticeship Review Northern Ireland Consultation
There are four overarching areas we need answers to. The deadline for responses is 12th January 2022.

Would a new combined structure for the qualification work in Northern Ireland?
- There are qualifications within the Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Frameworks. These qualifications reflect job roles within each pathway. The job roles are classed as ‘niche ‘or ‘specialist’ roles and as such attract low number in comparison to larger sectors. To ensure the frameworks are not at risk due to low numbers UKFT have combined the sub sectors to enable more enrolments. In keeping with this approach, the National Occupational Standards review in 2020 led to a merge of the Manufacturing Sewn Products standards with the Manufacturing Textile Products standards (as requested by the 4 nations employer steering groups). This, in turn has led to a new Scottish vocational qualification in Leather, Sewn Products or Textiles Manufacturing as below:
