Sourcing opportunity: ITC SheTrades UK – Bangladesh Trade Mission in September 2025
23/04/2025
The International Trade Centre (ITC), through its SheTrades in Bangladesh initiative, is inviting expressions of interest from UK companies interested in sourcing textiles, apparel and handicrafts from women-led businesses in Bangladesh.
The deadline to apply is 31 May 2025.

Launched in 2015, the ITC SheTrades Initiative is the flagship programme of the International Trade Centre (a joint agency of the WTO and the United Nations). It aims to create the conditions and build the capacity for women to succeed in global trade, empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting inclusive economic growth worldwide.
Companies are invited to submit an expression of interest to qualify for:
- UK-Bangladesh Trade Mission (1–4 September 2025, Dhaka & Chittagong)
- Virtual B2B Meetings with vetted women-led suppliers
These activities are organized by ITC as part of the SheTrades Commonwealth+ Programme, funded by UK International Development, and in collaboration with SheTrades Bangladesh Hub (Small and Medium Enterprise Foundation), London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce. Additional details will be shared after the selection process is complete.
The organisers said that in light of the recent US tariff announcements (despite the 90-day pause), Bangladesh may need to diversify its export markets, given their significant reliance on garment exports to the US. This presents a good opportunity for UK importers to explore new sourcing options, especially leveraging the benefits under the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS).
