Explore opportunities in the Middle East for UK brands: Saudi Lifestyle Week
13/02/2025
UK clothing, footwear, accessories, lingerie, beachwear brands and textile companies: Join a webinar on 20 February 2025 at 2pm to find out about a new tradeshow in Saudi Arabia called Saudi Lifestyle Week, taking place this October.
UKFT is always exploring new opportunities for UK exports, and our latest member survey confirms that the Middle East remains a key priority for many UK companies. Interest is particularly strong across menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, accessories, footwear, jewellery and lingerie, as well as interior and suiting fabrics.
While UKFT does not typically engage in start-up events and there are no government grants for export trade shows, we – alongside our counterparts in other European countries – have been actively looking for a suitable tradeshow in Saudi Arabia. For the first time, we believe this type of event is within reach. This presents a significant opportunity, especially as the UK remains committed to securing an ambitious trade deal with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Other respected European industry associations have already confirmed their participation.
UKFT and the tradeshow organisers Honegger invite interested UK brands to join us for an exclusive webinar on 20 February 2025 at 2pm to learn more about this promising new event. If there is sufficient interest from the industry, UKFT is prepared to collaborate with the organisers to establish a dedicated UK group.
SAUDI LIFESTYLE WEEK, will be held at the RICEC exhibition centre in Riyadh from the 6-8 October 2025.
The first International fashion show for the region will connect international brands with Saudi Arabia’s rapidly developing multichannel distribution network. As part of the Kingdom’s transformative Vision 2030 initiative, fashion, sportswear and design industries are experiencing remarkable growth, supported by government-led projects and the rise of local talent.
The event, co-organised by Honegger and Riyadh Exhibitions Company, brings together a single event with three complementary sectors:
- SAUDI FASHION: clothing, footwear, accessories, lingerie and beachwear. The trade show is a key platform to connect international fashion brands with Saudi Arabia’s fashion ecosystem and to the expanding multi-channel distribution system, projected to reach nearly $60 billion by 2025.
- SAUDI SPORTSWEAR: clothing, accessories, and sports equipment. The sportswear market size in Saudi has been reordered in 2020 equal to more than $1 million with estimated yearly grow rate of 7% up to 2025.
- SAUDI DESIGN: furniture and interior design. The trade show highlights the growth of the furniture market in Saudi Arabia, which is expected to generate revenue of $8.17 billion in 2024, with further acceleration from 2025 to 2029.
The three main sectors to be showcased at the SAUDI LIFESTYLE WEEK event represent a significant part of Saudi Arabia’s evolving market landscape.
In 2022, the Saudi economy experienced 8.5% growth, among the highest in the G20. A 5.2% increase in the non-oil component shows a growing private sector effort and a shift from the oil-backed economy. Thanks to the growing well-being within Saudi society, the fashion sector also offers opportunities for European companies to grow.
The development of new retail spaces–shops and malls development – alongside the high growth of ecommerce is creating opportunities for new market entrants such as European suppliers and existing foreign and local manufacturers and distributors of fashion brands.
