Cutting room assistant Sara Teszner has just undertaken a four-day intensive training course with Gerber supported by the CapitB Trust.

Sara said the training was enjoyable and incredibly useful to her role. She explained: “It has allowed me to learn how to create and alter patterns as well as understanding the process of how a garment comes together in much more detail.”

She added: “This has encouraged me to further my knowledge on the process of garment making even more.”

Samuel Brothers director Lee Dawson said that the training was hugely rewarding for both Sara and the company, with her confidence growing as well as her feeling of contributing much more to the cutting department.

“The quality of learning was excellent, and it is important to note that Gerber worked with us to ‘tailor’ the course,” he said. “Sara is now spending valuable time in enhancing her skills and developing further with some tuition from our head CAD-Cutter in migrating patterns onto the system, lay plans, inputting made to measure as well as creating markers and a whole host of other things.”
