21/05/2025
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited LLUK’s production facility in Maidenhead, Berkshire on 12 May 2025 in her role as President of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT).

The visit to LLUK, a British manufacturing facility specialising in luxury textile goods, highlighted the ongoing importance of supporting UK-based craftsmanship, skills and sustainable manufacturing within the textile industry.
LLUK operates a 12,500 sq ft facility in the Nicholson Centre in Maidenhead, equipped with over 60 sewing machines, 15 hand-sew stations, and dedicated areas for cutting, quality control, embroidery and back-of-house operations. The company’s expertise spans machine sewing for garments, accessories, luxury homewares and bespoke products, as well as intricate hand-sewing techniques, hand-rolled hemming, embellishments and premium finishing.

LLUK has become known for supporting UK mills with critical skills and producing premium textile goods for leading luxury brands across fashion, hospitality, automotive and events. The company is also focused on nurturing the next generation of skilled makers and driving transformative change in ethical manufacturing.
The visit included a tour of the manufacturing facility, a showcase of recent projects, and an introduction to the skilled artisans behind the work, celebrating both the tradition and the future of British-made textiles.

HRH was greeted by Rachel Walker, founder and managing director of LLUK, Lord-Lieutenant of The Royal County of Berkshire Andrew Try, the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Simon Bond and the manager of the Nicholsons Centre, Jane Wright.
During the visit, Rachel Walker and Operations Director Tony Boon provided an overview of the factory floor, showcasing the company’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Warda Rivzi, who leads the company’s private label support, explained the processes behind product development, Cut, Make and Trim (CMT) services, and embroidery, while Jessica Haines demonstrated the embroidery and embellishment techniques used in production.

In addition to its manufacturing capabilities, LLUK also supports mills, enabling them to fulfil orders when they face shortages in skills, machinery or capacity. The company’s services extend to private label development, fully factored bespoke products and luxury corporate gifting, with behind-the-scenes marketing support and photoshoot set hire available for clients.
As a gesture of appreciation, HRH The Princess Royal was presented with a personalised horse pad, crafted in-house to showcase the company’s high standards of production and customisation.
Adam Mansell, CEO of UKFT, said: “LLUK is a key contributor to the UK textile industry, committed to sustaining traditional craftsmanship while driving growth through innovation. The royal visit marks a recognition of its ongoing efforts to bridge skill gaps and support the expansion of British textile manufacturing.”
