UKFT Regulation Summit: EURATEX insights shaping the future of circular textiles in Europe

14/05/2026

UKFT members: Join us at the UKFT Regulation Summit 2026 on 9 June to understand the EU regulatory push on circular textiles.

Representatives from EURATEX will share insight into the latest policy developments influencing sustainability, circularity and compliance across the European textile and apparel sector.

Mauro Scalia - Euratex

Mauro Scalia, Director Sustainable Businesses, and Anaïs De Bergeyck, Policy Officer, will explore the evolving EU regulatory landscape and the practical implications for businesses operating across the textile value chain.

Mauro will speak on the Textiles Delegated Act under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), with a focus on the development of the Digital Product Passport (DPP). He will also provide insights from the European Commission on a range of sustainability based legislation.

As part of his role leading EURATEX’s Sustainable Businesses Department, Mauro is actively engaged in policy discussions with EU institutions and industry stakeholders. He has recently participated in meetings with the European Commission’s DG GROW alongside EURATEX members, including UKFT, to address implementation challenges linked to the DPP, including data access rights, semantic interoperability and associated costs for industry.

Anais de Bergeyck- Euratex

Anaïs supports the European textile industry’s transition toward circularity and smarter regulation. At EURATEX, she works on major legislative files including the Circular Economy Act, Environmental Omnibus Regulation and the implementation of the Waste Framework Directive.

She also leads the secretariat of the Textile PRO Forum, a voluntary initiative bringing together Producer Responsibility Organisations across Europe to support knowledge exchange and greater alignment on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

Anaïs will join a panel on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) alongside industry bodies including AAFA, Reconomy and UKFT.

This discussion will examine how EPR frameworks are developing globally, what lessons can be drawn across regions, and how businesses can prepare for increased accountability across product lifecycles.

In these sessions, you will gain:

  • Insight into the EU’s evolving approach to circular textile regulation
  • Practical understanding of the Digital Product Passport and ESPR implementation
  • Perspectives on circularity, compliance and Extended Producer Responsibility
  • Practical considerations for businesses preparing for regulatory change across European markets

If your business is navigating sustainability compliance, circularity requirements or EU market access, this event will provide valuable insight into the direction of travel for the industry.
