To round-up the first quarter of 2025, we wanted to shine a light on what some of our members have been up to. From new collaborations and collections to anniversaries and prestigious accolades, we want to celebrate our members latest updates and achievements.

Nobody’s Child launches takeback scheme in collaboration with Reskinned
Under the tagline ‘Loved once, loved again’, UKFT member Nobody’s Child has partnered with the resale-market Reskinned to encourage a more circular model. The collaboration will give pre-loved Nobody’s Child items a second chance by reselling or repurposing through the Reskinned platform, and the non-rewearable items will be responsibly recycled. As a reward, customers will receive up to £30 to spend on something new at Nobody’s Child so that you can “refresh your wardrobe while caring for the planet”.
Lucy & Yak’s collection ‘Turning the Tide’ supports ocean conservation
British brand Lucy & Yak have a reputation for supporting a range of environmental issues. It’s ‘Turning the Tide’ collection is in collaboration with artist Tan Zi Xi to support Surfers Against Sewage. With 100% of profits going to the charity that exists to address the issues with Britain’s coastlines, the collection includes patterned dungarees and trousers, and a graphic t-shirt.
AW Hainsworth MD appointed Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire
AW Hainsworth, a heritage textile mill based in West Yorkshire, has recruited Amanda McLaren, Managing Director of AW Hainsworth, to the position of Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire by the Monarch’s Lord-Lieutenant, Ed Anderson CBE.
Amanda said: “I was honoured to be nominated by Ed Anderson to become a Deputy Lieutenant for our region. Receiving my commission of appointment by command of HM the King was a very proud moment.
“I’m looking forward to assisting with any duties that may be required within the Lieutenancy, contributing to the local community and working closely with the other Deputy Lieutenants for West Yorkshire, deploying my professional and personal knowledge and experience.”
JD Sports recognised for climate change action
JD Sports has been recognised as a global leader in environmental transparency and action, earning a place on the CDP (the Carbon Disclosure Project) Climate A List for 2024. The CDP is a global non-profit organisation that monitors environmental performance and the carbon emissions of companies.
This recognition reflects the sportswear-brand’s focus on minimising its environmental impact to protect the future and its support for global initiatives and data measurement projects.
Celtic & Co to launch in Macy’s and Nordstrom
Cornwall based brand Celtic & Co has been selected by two US retailers to launch its SS25 collection. Working with global ecommerce platform Refined Networks, Celtic & Co womenswear is now live online with Nordstrom and Macy’s.
New Lanark unveils official ‘New Lanark Tartan’ with Lochcarron of Scotland: A celebration of heritage and collaboration
Historic Scottish mill New Lanark announces its official registration and launch of its own ‘New Lanark Tartan’. Unique to New Lanark, it has been custom designed by New Lanark Trust Chairperson James Pow, in partnership with Scottish tartan manufacturer, Lochcarron of Scotland.
Developed by Lochcarron, this new tartan celebrates New Lanark’s rich heritage while showcasing a new level of collaboration with one of Scotland’s most respected textile producers.
James Pow, Chairperson of the New Lanark Trust commented, “Our partnership with Lochcarron of Scotland is a perfect example of how two iconic Scottish brands can come together to celebrate and promote our shared heritage. The New Lanark Tartan symbolises both our history and the creativity that continues to drive us forward. We are incredibly proud to offer visitors the chance to take home a piece of New Lanark in the form of beautifully crafted Lochcarron tartan products.”
Strathberry have opened a new store in its home city of Edinburgh
Scottish accessories brand Strathberry has opened its newest retail shop on Victoria Street, Edinburgh. A blend of Scottish heritage and modern design, Strathberry’s new shop on the historic Edinburgh Street offers an inspiring setting to explore the brand’s signature collections.
Studio Nicholson turns 15 this year
In February 2025, minimalist contemporary brand Studio Nicholson celebrated its 15th birthday. Launching in 2010 in London, Studio Nicholson now also has stores in Tokyo and Seoul, and has more than 250 global stockists.
DAKS and John Smedley join forces for SS25 knitwear collection
British heritage brands DAKS and John Smedley have unveiled a capsule knitwear collection for spring/summer 2025, as they look to champion ‘Made in England’ manufacturing.
The 12-piece knitwear collection references DAKS’ archive, with john Smedley reinterpreting two iconic DAK styles – the House check and the House stripe, creating exclusive variations of both in John Smedley’s knitwear silhouettes. Styles include polo knits, knitted t-shirts and cardigans.
Seasalt Cornwall launch second phase of circular clothing collection
Cornish Clothing Brand Seasalt launches its new Seasalt Circular collection, which aims to reduce waste within the textile industry.
Part of its wider initiative entitled ‘Creative Circularity’ encompassing the brand’s passion for more responsible practices, the range features two popular Seasalt pieces, the Hope Cottage Blouse and the Brouse Dress. Both have been reimagined using high quality end-of-roll Seasalt fabrics to create a dynamic interplay of print united by Seasalt’s distinctive handwriting and linked by harmonious colours. Due to the nature of the project, each piece in the collection is one-of-a-kind, full of character and with a touch of femininity.
Seasalt’s chief creative officer, Laura Watson, says “Following on from the success of our collaboration with Beyond Retro, we are delighted to be able to offer another responsibly sourced collection. These pieces will be perfect for the warmer months ahead and customers can purchase with confidence, reassured by its reduced carbon footprint.”
