News from British exhibitors
Sustainability is an important focus for many brands exhibiting this season at Playtime, such as sheepskin and merino wool specialist Binibamba: “We produce ethically using only 100% natural, sustainable, biodegradable, or certified recycled materials. Designed with longevity and sustainability in mind, our products are multi-use – made to be loved on loop – then handed down. We value slow fashion that sticks around & respects the Earth.”
Children’s footwear brand Pip and Henry has reinforced its commitment to sustainability, offering footwear made from sustainable materials such as recycled cork: “All shoes can be recycled when outgrown, and are designed with the help of podiatrists to ensure correct foot growth and bone development.” Footwear brand ZIG + STAR combines design and sustainability: “Designed with a Paediatric Podiatrist, they not only look good but are great for children’s developing feet, and made using ethically sourced materials such as gold certified leather and natural rubber, selected for both durability and biodegradability.”
Merino wool clothing brand Smalls Merino, who gained product certification from Wool Mark last year, explained: “Smalls are fully traceable, certified by ZQ who helped create RWS (responsible wool standard). Many of our farms in New Zealand provide regenerative wool to some of the leading brands in the world.”
B Corp certified brand TÖASTIE will introduce its AW24 collection ‘Wïld Alchemy’: “Paying homage to the mystery of our mercurial universe, from the resplendent shade cast by the light of the moon to the power that sits within the smallest bud. As always, our sustainable collection focuses on detail, from comfort and durability of the product to gentle, naive prints that draw us back to nature.”
Playtime Paris will also feature minimalist childrenswear brand Loud’s AW24 collection ‘The garden of lost secrets’: “LOUD reflects an amalgamation of British creativity and Italian contemporary, minimal design.”
Unisex baby and toddler clothing brand Claude & Co will present unisex designs: “We focus on a predominantly neutral colour palette but push the boundaries with unexpected unisex colour and long-lasting great organic and sustainably sourced fabric.” Meanwhile, changing bags and accessories brand Tiba + Marl will showcase designs engineered for parenthood: “The collection offers gender neutral styling that merges form and function.
