UKFT Report on the Paris Shows: June 2022
28/07/2022
UKFT worked with the Department for International Trade (DIT) to support the UK group at the various men’s, women’s and swim shows and showrooms, which took place in Paris in June 2022.
This season, the dates were set initially by the Paris Fashion Week catwalk dates and three key shows:
TRANOI HOMME, MAN and SPLASH!PARIS which started towards the beginning of the “week” with many of the multi-brand showrooms either starting at the same time for a few days later. In addition to three key shows, the UK-organised WELCOME EDITION SHOWROOM on the left bank, close to Rainbowwave, was particularly well attended and has taken on a strong tradefair feel. Not all the showrooms returned to Paris this season as those catering primarily to buyers from China were unwilling to make the investment before their buyers return. For this reason Schroroom, NoSeason, Riccardo Grassi, Studio Zeta and some of the smaller and trendier showrooms were not in Paris this season. However, 12:24, Awaykin, Claret, FiveOFive, Four Marketing, Paper Mache Tiger, Rainbowwave, Six London Tora Tora were in town. Also in Paris were a number of independent designers taking meetings on a strictly by appointment basis only. These included Marques|Almeida and Gravalot, with the latter once again on the official Paris Fashion Week schedule.
As the shows and showrooms are scattered throughout Paris and on different dates, UKFT produced an online map to enable buyers to find the locations of all the UK companies in Paris more easily. This work was made possible by the support of the Department for International Trade and supported with an advert in Modem Magazine.
Overall there were 50 companies spread liberally throughout the shows and showrooms with the largest concentrations of British brands at Splash!Paris and Welcome Edition.
UKFT has produced a full report from the event, which is available to members and covers:
