Sleepy Wilson is based on the transformative power of sleep and knowing that we are at our best when we are rested and revitalised after a good night’s shut eye.
The brand creates beautiful silk sleepwear for ladies and children using natural fibres, the highest grade 19mm silk – a renewable, biodegradable source that is also naturally temperature regulating, breathable, hypo allergenic and antibacterial to help cool the skin and promote a better night’s sleep. With added 5% stretch, they’re also supremely comfortable.
The metamorphosis of earthly caterpillar into beautiful butterfly after hibernation is the inspiration for the family’s prints and colour palette, where they take hues and shapes from nature, and intricate caterpillars and butterflies are weaved into the final designs.
For Paula and Tom Wilson it’s no longer enough to just make a beautiful product – the fashion industry is one of the worst contributors to the global climate crisis – so the couple are committed to using biodegradable materials across all of their products, from pyjamas to packaging. They have no toxins, harmful chemicals or single use plastics in their production and they promote full visibility of their supply chain from raw material to delivery. They also have a fully transparent supply chain, and are part of ‘Fashion Revolution’ and ‘Labour behind the Label’, who campaign globally for garment worker’s rights and a fair wage for all concerned. Going forward they’ll be working with DHL on their Go Green campaign and Trillion Tree Campaign to help neutralise their carbon footprint.
A belief in investment over fast fashion and the joy of quality over budget pricing, combined with fabrics that perform for their intended purpose, that don’t harm the environment and that can be produced ethically and sustainably, is what underpins Sleepy Wilson.
