Orto Print Studio is a textile screen printing studio based in Shepherd’s Bush Market, London. The company works with fashion, textile and interior designers as well as artists and architects to create prints on fabrics and garments. Developing prints and techniques unique to its client, Orto Print Studio ensures that they are both creative and reproducible for production.

Launched in 2018 by textile and print specialists Holly Ramjaun and Alex Olivier, Orto Print Studio’s portfolio features high profile clients such as Burberry, Fanfare, JW Anderson, Hunter, Mulberry, Pongees, Raeburn and S.S.Daley. The studio moved to a larger space in Shepherd’s Bush Market in 2024, enabling them to invest in a bigger print table. This upgrade allowed them longer meterage runs and efficient handling of multiple projects simultaneously.

Alex Olivier, Director at Orto Print Studio, said:

“We also purchased a large heat press and airbrushing equipment to allow us to experiment more and bring in some new techniques. We can now sublimate directly onto garments with our heat press, meaning we can be more creative with print positioning.”

Alex went on:

“Moving studios has allowed us to grow our team and we are excited to see if this can allow us to grow our output in 2025.”

The studio is located at Pigment Press, a community screen printing workshop space, explained Alex. “We lead workshops for all levels of ability and share our years of experience. Bringing some creativity to the market.”

Orto Print Studio worked last year with London-based artist John Booth, whose playful and expressive artwork features bold colour combinations.

Alex said: ‘‘We recently worked with artist John Booth for the Rosewood Hotel helping him to translate his beautiful artworks into vibrant table runners and napkins for his ongoing collaboration with the hotel and their artist afternoon tea.’’

Orto Print Studio also collaborated with fabric supplier Pongees, to create a range of printed fabrics. Using Pongees’ materials, it showcased how screen printing can be used as a tool to enhance textiles.

The studio has noticed a shift in the market, with an increasing number of clients interested in printing on second-hand materials:

‘‘We have had more clients last year wanting to print onto second-hand and used materials to repurpose them into new pieces and garments.’’

In addition to its move to a bigger space and new exciting collaborations, the studio also completed the Hatch accelerator programme in 2024. Supporting Southwark-based businesses, the programme offered expert advice and learning opportunities, helping the team to develop pitching skills and analyse their business.
