Member spotlight: Michael’s Bridal Fabrics to showcase at Textile Forum 2025

UKFT member Michael’s Bridal Fabrics will exhibit at Textile Forum in London on 12-13 March 2025, presenting their extensive range of bridal fabrics, accessories and eco-friendly innovations.

Michael’s Bridal Fabrics is a family-run business established in 1996. The company, based in Northfleet-Kent provides an extensive selection of bridal fabrics, edgings, motifs and accessories. Their products are available to order with no minimum quantity required and they also offer a variety of sample books.
Over the past few years, the company has embraced more sustainable practices, including sourcing packaging from sustainable materials, reducing paper usage, switching to more eco-friendly energy sources and incorporating fabrics made partly or entirely from recycled polyester yarns.
‘‘The higher-end plains use organic viscose and bio-silk, focusing on the entire silk-making process—from yarn production to fabric manufacturing—to ensure it is produced in the most eco-friendly and ethical way possible. The French laces use organic cotton and sustainable viscose by planting new trees to replace the ones cut down to make the wood pulp into viscose yarn. Many of the embroideries, both new designs and older existing designs are now being embroidered onto recycled tulle and in some qualities the embroidery yarn is also recycled.’’
‘‘The same applies to many of the existing and new motifs and edgings, all being made on recycled tulle. All the brocades/Jacquards of Italian origin are using Bio Silk and recycled yarns. The Italian prints are all now on Bio Silk.’’
In addition to sample books showcasing their entire range of products, including bra forms, hair combs and off-white hook-and-eyes, Michael’s Bridal Fabrics also offers a dedicated sample catalogue featuring all their eco-friendly fabrics.
Michael’s Bridal Fabrics showcases its fabrics at exhibitions across the UK, Europe and Australia, and looks forward to showcasing at Textile Forum this March.
