UKFT member LLUK is a bespoke manufacturing facility for luxury goods located in Maidenhead. Specialising in finishes such as lockstitch, blanket-stitch, hand-sewing and embroidery, it also manufactures products for fashion and lifestyle brands, and provides bespoke project services to the travel, hospitality and luxury sectors.

LLUK recently took part in an episode of the Quastels Round Table Podcast by the law firm Quastels, experts in legal strategies for luxury brands across fashion, beauty and retail. This series of conversations delves into topics such as inclusive leadership and sustainable supply chains.

Released on 28 January 2025, LLUK’s podcast episode featured LLUK CEO Rachel Walker and Marcus Rebuck, Partner at Quastels. The conversation explored the fast-evolving fashion landscape and how to future-proof the luxury manufacturing industry. It highlighted how EU regulatory changes such as EU GPSR, stricter rules around greenwashing, and evolving consumer expectations are disrupting fast fashion.

“The European Union has intensified its crackdown on fast fashion and greenwashing, with new legislative measures holding brands accountable for their environmental and ethical claims,” said LLUK. “These measures could soon impose penalties of up to 5% of global revenues for non-compliance.”

“One of the most critical areas for improvement in the fashion industry is supply chain transparency”, explained LLUK. “The integration of ESG principles into supply chains is no longer optional but necessary to future-proof the luxury manufacturing sector. Brands must ensure that every stage of their supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to final production, is managed ethically and sustainably.”
