Clive Walsh is Managing Director of Mallalieus of Delph in Oldham, Lancashire. In this interview for British Textile Week, he discusses his career with a number of famous British worsted mills before deciding to join Mallalieus because of the appeal of the company’s colour palette.

The company sits on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border and he explains how the soft local water enables the company to produce its products with local British wool where it can to reduce the carbon footprint. He talks about export markets, how the company has found alternatives to enable buyers to touch and feel the fabric and how its own finished goods enable it to build a new B2C business.
