Low Pay Commission: Consultation on April 2026 National Minimum Wage Rates

06/05/2025

The Low Pay Commission has opened its call for written evidence to inform recommendations on minimum wage rates for 2026 and beyond to make to Government this October.

UKFT urges UK fashion and textile employers to meet with the Low Pay Commission (LPC) and share your first-hand experiences regarding the impact of the National Minimum Wage. Your insights are crucial in shaping the LPC’s recommendations to the Government on the future of the minimum wage.

The Low Pay Commission (LPC) is the independent body that advises the Government on the level of the minimum wage. Later this year, LPC will recommend the National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage (NLW) rates to apply from April 2026.

The deadline for responses is 30 June 2025,  made via the online consultation platform. You can also submit written evidence by email to lpc@lowpay.gov.uk. If you have questions about the process or the online platform, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The organisation is running in-person regional visits and will continue to hold meetings and discussions online alongside these. If you have questions or want to submit first-hand evidence, please contact Duncan.Michie@lowpay.gov.uk.
