UKFT is also a member of the International Apparel Federation (IAF). The IAF is the world federation for the apparel industry and membership includes apparel associations from over 60 countries as well as brands and retailers, suppliers to the industry and educational institutes.

The IAFs aims are to:

• Build co-operation between buyers and suppliers
• Help the industry become more knowledge intensive
• Foster a global approach to responsible sourcing
• Harmonisation legislation helping the industry to cut unnecessary costs
• Be a global platform for networking and information exchange
