Member Spotlight: Jardin Living – Ration.L and Reflexone
15/09/2020
Kavita Basi has established Jardin Living, a group of lifestyle brands for the conscious and curious, after spending more than 20 years in sourcing and sustainable product development for global sourcing giant Li & Fung.
Kavita suffered a life-threatening brain haemorrhage aged just 38, which caused her to reassess her lifestyle and led to the development of Jardin Living. The platform focuses on sustainable products with longevity, designing with intent, eco materials that are either recycled, vegan and cruelty free with biodegradable packaging.
“Each process is thought through to ensure we are providing the best products for both consumers and our planet,” says Kavita. “Our products encourage a healthier happier lifestyle to allow the wearers to enjoy them and feel good about our planet.”
The first two brands in the Jardin Living stable are Reflexone, a range of activewear made from certified recycled plastic bottles and ocean plastics, and Ration.L, a range of vegan trainers.
Reflexone focuses on slow fashion, seasonless investment pieces, featuring smart seaming to offer a toned appearance. Bum sculpting and tummy control leggings are a key part of the collection and 5% of profits are donated to The Bee Foundation charity.
Ration.l trainers are certified by the Vegan Society and made from vegan, recycled and organic materials. They are are also designed to be seasonless and gender neutral, with 5% profits donated to the Brain and Spine Foundation.
Kavita has also written a book called Room 23 surviving a Brain Hemorrhage to help others in a similar experience, charting her thoughts, feelings and discovery from diagnosis through to recovery. She also works closely with charities which help those with neurological conditions and their family and friends around them.
