Innovation and Heritage: Future Fashion Factory Year 1 Showcase
09/10/2019
Future Fashion Factory builds on Yorkshire’s renowned textile heritage with a £5.4m industry-led research and development (R&D) programme driving innovation in the UK luxury fashion and textile industry.
As it reaches its 1st anniversary, join us to celebrate the success of the Programme so far and learn more about the varied projects that are enabling UK businesses to make the right product for the right customer at the right time – and do so sustainably.
Interactive displays and demonstrations will explore innovation in design and manufacturing across FFF’s network of fashion and textile industry partners, from raw materials to finished product and beyond the point of sale.
Meet researchers and industry partners developing new technologies to reduce waste, shorten lead times, and increase the agility of the UK’s luxury fashion and textile sector.
Future Fashion Factory is led by the University of Leeds in partnership with the University of Huddersfield and the Royal College of Art. It is part of the Creative Industries Clusters Programme (CICP), managed by the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) as part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF). Industrial partners include Burberry, the British Fashion Council, UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), Yorkshire Textiles, Wools of New Zealand, Abraham Moon & Sons, the Textile Centre of Excellence, W. T. Johnson & Sons, AW Hainsworth, Camira Fabrics, Northern Clothing and Textile Network, and Leeds City Council.
