Grants available to visit (not show) at Paris Women’s Fashion Week 4-7 March 2022
31/01/2022
Are you a UK fashion brand interested in showing at a showroom or tradeshow taking place during Paris Fashion Week? You may be eligible for a grant of approximately £200 to visit the events, held from 4-7 March 2022 but the deadline for application ends at 5pm on Tuesday 1st February.
The DIT Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) was cancelled last year. A new UK Tradeshow Programme (UKTP) has been launched as a pilot and there is a chance that DIT may consider you for a grant to visit the show in March.
The new UKTP scheme is not intended to subsidise UK companies’ costs to show but, rather, it intends to help them to understand how tradeshows work based on visiting a show once in the lifetime of the company. There will also be the opportunity to apply for a limited number of grants, again up to one grant in the lifetime of the company to “Exhibit”– but that scheme will follow in practice for shows later in the year. More details on the new scheme will follow.
Using this link, click on New Application. The page opens on a text to read which covers terms, eligibility and has guidance on completing the application. You are advised to read these and then to complete your email address, name and job title , and confirm whether you have committed to the event. Once this is done, you will receive an email to verify and the email will explain the next steps to complete the application and provide all the information required to DIT.
If you are accepted onto the programme, the “training” and on site elements will be delivered by UKFT. As soon as we are advised by DIT, we would work with you to put together a programme to visit the key tradeshows and, if the scheme will allow, selected showrooms you may also want to consider.
Deadline for applications: Tuesday 1st February 2022.
Grant expected: £200 per eligible company.
DIT will select those companies it wishes to have as part of that group and inform UKFT. UKFT will then work with DIT to put together a suitable visit programme. This would be a good way to look at how Paris Fashion Week is coming back after the pandemic, unless you are intending to show.
For UK fashion brands intending to show in March
If you have already decided to show, rather than merely visit, please email info@ukft.org separately so that we can help you with this. We are planning to be working with DIT on a group promotion of those companies which show in March and on the back of this we are also able to help you select and apply for the events of your choice.
It is not possible to apply for UKTP grants to “Exhibit” in March but we expect this may be possible later in the year. However, if you are based in England, outside London, Oxford, Cornwall and the North West, there is a chance that you might still be able to apply for the Internationalisation Fund if there are grants left in your region. See https://www.great.gov.uk/campaigns/internationalisation-fund-for-english-businesses/ for more details. For companies outside England, please contact your devolved administration to see if there is any regional funding available.
If you are showing, please email info@ukft.org with your plans and we shall do everything in our power to assist you.
