More families now eligible for support from the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust

UKFT’s charity partner, the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT), provides grants to families facing financial instability. FTCT is the only organisation dedicated to supporting children from families working in the UK fashion and textile industry.
The Trust recently updated its grant criteria to reach more fashion and textile families in response to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Following an internal review, the FTCT board made the decision to reduce the minimum trade connection period for current employees from 12 months to 6 months.
Anna Pangbourne, FTCT CEO, said: “By reducing the minimum length of trade connection to six months for current employees, we hope to reach families before a personal financial crisis causes long-term financial difficulties.”
The charity hopes that the changes will ensure application criteria remain relevant to the sector, particularly those on shorter-term contracts and those entering the workforce with existing financial challenges.
