Fashion Toolbox supports size-inclusive brand launch using 3D development to reduce sampling

05/03/2026

Fashion Toolbox, a UK-based digital fashion specialist has supported the launch of a new size-inclusive slow fashion brand by using 3D product development to streamline sampling and reduce waste.

The project highlights how UK-based digital capability is helping emerging brands develop products more efficiently while reducing waste.

Laura Fish, founder of UKFT Education Partner Fashion Toolbox, worked with Radio 1 presenter, artist and designer Rosie Madison to develop the debut collection for Dorothy & Rose, a made-to-order, size-inclusive brand designed to challenge one-size-fits-all fast fashion.

Using industry-leading 3D software CLO3D, Laura created virtual prototypes of Rosie’s designs to review fit, proportion, volume and print placement before any physical sampling took place. This digital workflow reduced the need for multiple development samples, with only one physical sample required for each garment after refinement in 3D.

The 3D process also supported more informed size-inclusive development, enabling proportion checks across the full size range and helping build accurate digital patterns ready for production. Dorothy & Rose offers garments in sizes 6–24, with both regular and tall fittings, and the collection features Rosie’s own artwork motifs.

Rosie Madison said: “Creating a size-inclusive slow fashion brand meant finding the right people to work with. So much fashion is made overseas at speed, but I wanted to build something thoughtful and values-led. Working with Laura felt like the perfect match, and I think women supporting and empowering other women should be celebrated.”

Laura Fish said: “Supporting Rosie with her first collection has been a great example of how practical 3D development can be for new and independent brands. Building digitally allowed us to refine details early, make clearer decisions before sampling, and keep physical sampling to a minimum. It’s a workflow that supports sustainability through better development, not just better manufacturing.”

Laura established Fashion Toolbox in 2019, building on more than 20 years’ experience in the fashion industry. She works as a 3D technical designer, consultant and educator, supporting brands, universities and individuals in adopting digital product creation workflows. Her services include virtual prototyping, technical design, pattern development, and tailored training programmes focused on improving accuracy, reducing over-sampling and strengthening digital capability within fashion teams.

Laura has previously supported a wide range of brands across different sectors, including RediGolf, Onboard Sportswear, Safeguard Armour and Smiffy’s Costumes.

Dorothy & Rose is made-to-order to help reduce overproduction and the size-inclusive range includes both regular and tall fittings.
