Webinar: Complying with the UK and EU REACH Regulations, with Valpak
To go alongside its Sustainability 101 Series, UKFT is hosting a programme of webinars focused on sustainability topics such as standards, Green Claims, Greenwashing and Due Diligence. This is part of UKFT’s goal to simplify the journey towards sustainability and help companies make the right choices by providing unbiased, industry-specific guidance.
The ‘Complying with the UK and EU REACH Regulations’ webinar will be hosted in collaboration with Valpak on 18 September 2024. Ian Guest Piema (Environmental Compliance Consultant, Valpak) and Qariem Radix (Commercial Account Manager- Compliance, Valpak) will speak on this webinar:

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Ian Guest Piema, Environmental Compliance Consultant, Valpak
Ian is an Environmental Compliance Consultant and has worked for Valpak for 16 years. As an Environmental Compliance Consultant, he is involved in the delivery of environmental legislation specifically around Chemical, Energy and Carbon Regulations, helping to provide technical assistance to businesses ensuring compliance and at the same time helping to implement more sustainable supply chains.
Qariem Radix, Commercial Account Manager- Compliance, Valpak
Qariem, also known as Q, has been a versatile member of Valpak since 2022. He spends 50% of his time ensuring that existing and new Valpak members are up to date with Packaging Compliance Obligations, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). The other 50% of his time is dedicated to assisting clients with a diverse range of environmental/sustainability consulting projects, from LCAs and EPDs to Modern Slavery, ESOS, REACH, and RoHS. He also demonstrates his adaptability by aiding clients with bespoke projects that fall outside the realm of UK Packaging compliance.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Valpak is a Reconomy brand and the UK’s first, largest and leading Producer Responsibility Scheme, with its core business as environmental compliance. For the past 25 years, Valpak has been collecting detailed data on both products and the packaging associated with them. The company has over 2000 packaging scheme members and a 100% compliance record. One of Valpak’s most unique asset is its Environmental Product Information Centre database (or the EPIC database for short) that contains over 44 million individual SKUs which is a rich source of data on products and packaging placed on the market within the UK.
Valpak is also actively engaged in providing evidence for Government policy and consulting, and has been a long-trusted DEFRA advisor. They offer expert guidance and assistance to businesses, helping them to understand their environmental footprints and achieve sustainability objectives. For its compliance scheme members, Valpak also assess their financial exposure to EPR reforms & DRS.
