UKFT would like to inform members that the European Commission has launched a stakeholder consultation on potential Ecodesign requirements for furniture under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

This consultation forms part of the Commission’s preparatory work to assess how sustainability related requirements could apply to furniture. UKFT is not directly involved in this exercise, however members and textile companies with relevant interests may wish to provide input or register as a stakeholder via the project website to receive updates on future developments and consultations.

The survey can be accessed by contacting the UKFT compliance team, who can also provide further information if helpful. The deadline to respond is Monday 29 June 2026.
