UKFT member Continental Textiles is the parent company of loungewear brand Loungeable and swimwear brand South Beach, stocked by key global retailers such as Asos, Next and John Lewis. Founded in 1953, the Manchester-based business remains on top of the latest trends with its fast-response in-house design team. Scroll down to find out more.
UKFT Member Continental Textiles is a family-run wholesale fashion business based in Manchester. Established in 1953, it is a regular supplier to key global retailers, wholesalers and independent stores including ASOS, Next, New Look, Zalando and John Lewis.
“Our in-house design team remains at the heart of what we do,” explains Continental Textiles. Its in-house design team adopts a trend-driven and fast-response approach to create fresh and commercially strong collections across its two main brands: South Beach and Loungeable.
South Beach is Continental Textile’s swimwear, beachwear and loungewear brand, stocked at major retailers worldwide. Loungeable focuses on loungewear, sleepwear and accessories. Continental Textiles said: “Loungeable has carved out a growing niche with its cosy, comfort-led loungewear, sleepwear, and accessories—all designed in Manchester with a strong focus on fabric quality, fit and feel.”
South Beach and Loungeable can also be shopped online via their dedicated Business-to-Consumer (B2C) websites.
Continental Textiles specialises in swimwear, beachwear, activewear, skiwear, nightwear and accessories. It also includes a growing footwear offering. “Our product range is continuously being added to,” said Continental Textiles. “We have well established relationships with specialist factories in the Far East and visit these factories regularly to make sure our high standard is being met at all times. We also have a team based in China to reinforce this – they make sure all our factories are fully audited and working conditions are safe and regulated.”

Continental Textiles is now looking into integrating recycled materials to its collections: “Looking ahead, we’re excited to be developing new product categories and capsule collections with a growing focus on sustainability. We’re exploring the use of recycled materials, more responsible fabric sourcing, and improved supply chain transparency. Our goal is to combine trend-led design with sustainable practices that can scale meaningfully—without compromising on style or value.”
