Co.Lab: New retail space launches in Cardiff for emerging D2C brands

Pop-up specialist and independent designer concept store Lone Design Club (LDC) is introducing Co.Lab. Co.Lab, as featured in Forbes, is a brand new micro-retail shopping space opening its doors to emerging online brands and designers looking to venture into physical retail. Launched by the pop-up platform Lone Design Club (LDC) and the real estate company Landsec, Co.Lab is set to give new energy to the shopping experience.
Set at St David Dewi Sant, a 6,000-square-foot-venue in Cardiff, Wales, Co.Lab will feature flexible shopping units and a community event space where a wide range of experiences will be hosted. St David’s Shopping Centre, located in the heart of Cardiff’s city centre, has a 30 million annual footfall. “All the data shows Cardiff is the next retail hot spot,” commented Lone Design Club.
“Consider Co.Lab your brand’s gateway to successful and sustainable physical retail,” said LDC. “Your brand will have your own concession style unit in a very prime location within a multi-branded site of only high calibre brands you’ll look not just good next to but, great. There will be a shared multi-use event space for you to host activities.”
The space is aimed at direct-to-consumer brands that currently sell online but are looking to expand into physical retail. The retail units are specifically tailored to fashion, accessories, footwear, jewellery and lifestyle brands. Prices start at £500PCM for a rail in Co.Lab’s multibrand zone, through to £5,000PMC for a 170SQFT concession space.
Co.Lab puts an emphasis on sustainability: “Our physical spaces are curated with a focus on conscious retail from repurposing visual merchandise structures and materials to working with brands that all have a social purpose and mission.”
